Administration of Medicines

We are aware that children will sometimes need to have medicines administrated in school.  

Please be aware that this procedure must be followed for ALL medication. 

We can only administer medicine that is:

• Clearly named.
• If prescribed by a doctor, has the child's name on the label. 
• In date.
• Accompanied by a medical form.

STEP 1 - Online Form

STEP 2 - Label the medicine with the child's name - if not already labelled on the prescription. 

STEP 3 - Hand the medicine to the school office in the morning and give details of how it needs to be stored. 

STEP 4 - We will administer the medicine in school and will complete a form showing the dosage given, time given and the name of the person administering it. 

STEP 5 - Collect the medicine from the office at the end of the day.

Please be aware that we are not able to insist that staff administer medicines, but we will always try to help where we can.
